Journal Impact Factor in Systems Biology

Systems Biology not only needs a multi-disciplinary frame-work but also needs a training to appreciate the multi-disiplinary culture. Majority of the science conferences do not have a strong review board and only publish abstracts, hence, academicians from Basic science background and General academia do not appreciate the importance of publications in conferences. Contrarily, engineering conferences publish full papers and they have a strong review board. However, science and general academicians, are not aware regarding the importance of engineering conferences. Please go through the article: Ideker T, Bafna V, and Lemberger T. Integrating scientific cultures, Mol Syst Biol 2007, 3:105, doi: 10.1038/msb4100145. This fact is more pronounced in India and may be the major hindrance in the development of   Systems Biology in India.
